Certificate of Occupancy Issued December 18th at 5pm, 2008. WOW!
December 19th, Lisa was sleeping on the freshly carpeted floor . . . delighted. Well, it was a little hard . . .While Jerry prepared to fly back up for the holidays, Lisa scrambled to move furniture and boxes from the cabin they had been renting nearby . . . "Let's surprise Jerry," Lisa said, knowing that Jerry's favorite activity is NOT moving furniture and boxes.

|
| On December 20th Tomas Gebel and his two helpers Philip and Joe showed up at the cabin at 7am and in 7 degree weather we moved items on to his open trailer. BRRR!
I had forgotten how much "stuff" we had . . . weeded out and gave things away before moving from Florida, but even so, the room full of boxes - books - books - more books - kitchen - clothes - more clothes - where did all these clothes come from???? Gadgets - Lisa the Gadget Girl - more gadgets . . . . and tools. Tools! Well, enough to build another airplane . . .

On our fourth trip to the house - now it's up to 12 degrees - I look at the heirloom mahogany library table that my dad and his dad and probably his dad studied and did their homework on . . . I intended to put that massive table in the study along with all of our books, along with the 2 matching benches. As I looked at the table . . . Brrrr . . . I realized it was too big for the study door. What to do? Window? No, window too small. Then I thought the unthinkable . . . hoist it up on to the cantilevered deck outside the study! In the space of 15 minutes Tomas and his fellow supermen had the table into the study!

| No time for lunch, Tomas and crew off to another job, and our friendly mountain home designer Richard and his whole FAMILY show up at 1pm at the cabin with a rental truck! Here we are, loading MORE boxes . . . guest bedroom furniture . . . couches . . . chairs . . . where DID all this come from? I obviously did not give enough away.
|
About 7pm we are ready to drop. Tomas and Philip show up and we begin assembling the master king size bed. "Where are the directions?" asks Tomas. "Also we need the hardware." Alas, neither directions nor hardware are anywhere to be found. For the next three hours we improvise . . . I am so anxious to have this all ready for Jerry when he arrives the following day.
At 11pm Tomas leaves and I throw a sheet and blanket on the bed, falling asleep like a light as my head hits the pillow.

| Jerry arrived the next day at noon. We met for lunch and I lamented about what a big job it would be to move . . . Jerry made a sour face and said, "I hate moving but it's got to be done . . . it will be a tough job to assemble that bed and will probably take us days!" 45 minutes later we arrive at Cliffhangar. Jerry notices all the boxes piled high everywhere. "What?" As he sees the assembled platform bed he smiles broadly and gives me a huge hug. "Wow! I don't believe you did all this!!!"
Made our day!

January 10th, 2009: Even though 90% of our things are moved in, boxes are piled high! Where to begin? And then there are the NFL playoffs, so there is a chance we may be caught sitting in front of a television instead working to unpack! What we are noticing now from actually living in the house for nearly two weeks is the fantastic changing landscape outside our windows. From a ferocious wind and rain storm to blowing snow to bright sunny days, the experience is always completely engaging and entertaining. How will we get any work done???? I guess we will have to develop some discipline . . .
